Rule # 69: Peanuts don't grow on trees.

We took Evan to see an allergist today. They pricked his back in 14 spots with different allergens. I know it looks bad, but he didn't cry at all, during or after. We had been suspecting cashews, but it turns out he is allergic to all tree nuts, but not peanuts fortunately.
However, of the tree nuts he had the strongest reaction to cashews. We also got an epipen from the pharmicist, which you have to jab harder than you'd think into the thigh.

Those hives make me want to scratch my own back. Glad he's not allergic to peanuts but it's a shame he'll miss out on cashews. Yum.

Yikes! Is it something he might grow out of?

Make sure I know how to use the pen before he stays with me.

Em, don't worry. It'll be part of the "users manual" that I'm going to type up. Plus there is a trainer pen with no needle or medication that I'll send with him to practice if you'd like.

I'm glad he took it so well, poor little guy. At least you know what to avoid now!

Hope you guys are enjoying the holidays. :)

Poor little guy! I am glad it didn't hurt him, because it looks really uncomfortable. I am also glad they can do tests and things like this to find out about allergies before they have a really bad reaction.

So is this an allergy he will grow out of? I have heard sometimes that happens. Do you think it has played into his eczema? Val's little boy has skin problems and we are wondering if it is allergies. Glad to hear he took it like a champ. He is such a cute boy!

Hey Meg! This is Val, Eth's sis. I think my little boy may have allergies. Could you give me the name of the Allergist you went to go see? Thanks!

Just thought I let you know that Val got an appointment with the allergist you take Evan to see. Thanks for giving her the info. And thanks again, Megs, for taking Will last week. It meant a lot and was nice to have a breather.
